In this book she supplies some of the history of those ancient places of pilgrimage, reflects on the experience of being a pilgrim, and meditates upon discussions she had with those she met along her route.

In 2015, the author undertook a three-month pilgrimage on foot around Wales, carrying everything she needed and staying in campsites along the way. Her main objectives were four ancient places of pilgrimage, Holywell, Bardsey Island, St David’s and Llantwit Major, but she also visited numerous churches and other places of interest along the way. A Pilgrimage Around Wales contains three different types of writing: reflections prompted by comments and questions made by the people met along the route; a factual and historical background to the pilgrimage and the places visited; and more overtly spiritual reflections on the author’s experiences as a pilgrim. Each chapter has a theme, the title of each chapter being a relevant comment or question made to her on her walk. The book will appeal to people who are interested in Christian spirituality and pilgrimage, Church history – especially early Church history in Wales – and those with a more general interest in walking and the outdoors.
