Jan Williams grew up in Borth, Ceredigion, later going on to live in Canada and England. She is a teacher, writer and award-winning storyteller and founded the Essex Story Tellers group, which has been commissioned to work on various local history projects. She is the author of Essex Folk Tales , Essex Folk Tales for Children , An Amazing Storytelling Cat and The Ghost of Pendlesham Priory . She is the great-granddaughter of Captain John Evans, the subject of this book.
