Llanberis is one of the main tourist centres in Snowdonia. In recent years the village has developed its attractions such as the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Electric Mountain or even the Llanberis Lake Railway. The National Slate Museum along with the dive centre and adventurous rock climbing in Vivian Quarry close to Gilfach Ddu have all helped to put Llanberis on the map. Walks in this guide have been chosen as some of the best in the area and cater for all abilities. The lakeside walks are suitable for wheelchair users whilst for the more adventurous there are fine long ones in the mountains. Shorter walks look at the history of the area especially in regard to the slate quarries and exploring fine oak woodlands. There are a couple of waterfall walks as well as one to a castle.
