Originally from Cardiff, Carwyn has come via Oxford to settle in Carmarthen. He tries his best to be a husband, father, gardener, linguist and Christian, and sometimes manages. Carwyn was one of the group behind the project to establish a heritage orchard of native Welsh apples in the National Botanic Garden of Wales for the first time. The orchard will open in 2018.

The heritage of Welsh apples is a fascinating journey through mythology, medieval poetry, cuisine, alcohol, religion and farming. As we follow the tale, we will see that the story of the apple touches every corner of the country, and throws light on its wider history from unexpected angles. A tasting session, presentation and discussion will be held at Wright's Food Emporium, Golden Grove Arms, Llanarthne on Wednesday evening 17th October at 7.30pm. Bar, and books for sale.
