Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography

Brennig Davies is a writer from south Wales. At fifteen, he became the first ever winner of the BBC Young Writers Award for his story Skinning, which was read aloud on BBC Radio 1 by Sir Ian McKellen. He was educated at Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg in Barry before studying English at Mansfield College, Oxford. He has been twice-shortlisted for the Rhys Davies Short Story Award and has been part of the Hay Festival Writers at Work programme. His stories and poems have appeared in The London Magazine , Poetry Wales , the New Welsh Review and on BBC Radio 4. Brennig Davies also writes in Welsh, and his accolades include winning the Crown at the Urdd Eisteddfod in 2019 and publishing his debut novel Fel yr Haul (Sebra), which topped the Welsh Books Council’s bestseller list in the Summer of 2026.
