Sharon Marie Jones was born and raised in mountainous North Wales, immersed in magical folktales of giants and fairies. She now lives near Aberystwyth with her husband and sons. She worked as a primary school teacher for 12 years, before becoming a full time author.

Grace-Ella is a nine-year-old witch-in-training who has a black cat called Mr Whiskins and is careful to follow The Nine Golden Rules of the Witch Council whilst practising her magic spelling. At school, two loyal friends – Fflur and bug-mad Bedwyr – know her secret, but bullying banker's daughter Amelia has her suspicions too. Join in with the mayhem and fun as Buddy Whiffleflip the Pixie comes to stay, and a fundraising event for the Wildlife Trust is organised. Opportunities for creativity, social awareness and financial education enrich the straightforward plot in a natural, unforced way and make this novel a great read for the classroom or at home. With the tale moving at a satisfying pace, complete with magical rhymes, readers will be carried along by the story as well as empathy and concern for the main characters during both tense and hilarious events. The characters make the most of a bad situation and despite some nastiness there is a sense of feel-good revenge, understanding and forgiveness which bodes well for even more adventures. Pixie Pandemonium is the third in a series, following Grace-Ella: Spells for Beginners and Grace-Ella: Witch Camp , but readers will have no problem jumping straight in, as writer Sharon Marie Jones and illustrator Adrianna J. Puglisi have created a believable world which primary children will relish and enjoy. Highly recommended.
