Award-winning author Jenny Sullivan is both a prolific and popular writer. A keen ambassador for reading, she now lives in Brittany, but returns often to Wales, visiting schools and libraries across the country to hold writing workshops. She won the Tir na n-Og Award in 2006 for the best English-language book for children with her historical novel Tirion's Secret Journal and in 2012 with Full Moon.

His dyslexia is one, Mr.Snuffles – a neighbour’s irritating dog – is another. There’s also the question of Geraint, his mam’s new friend – but most of all, his teacher has announced that an eisteddfod competition for St David’s Day will be to bake and decorate a cake. How on earth will he take part, not being able to follow a recipe, and with family finances being tight? Will Geraint be a hindrance or a help?
