More Welsh Jokes certainly lives up to its title. As the name suggests, it's a sequel and the latest collection of rib-tickling material from Dilwyn Phillips. Open any page and you'll find it hard not to smile. In truth, many of the jokes in this book are not essentially Welsh. They're universal gags and have simply been adapted with Welsh names substituted where necessary. That doesn't stop this book being a very useful tool for anyone who finds themselves in a situation where they have to entertain, whether it's giving an after-dinner speech or holding forth down the pub. And occasionally there are real glimpses of how the Welsh laugh at themselves and others. Unfortunately I can't repeat them here as, in my opinion, the best jokes are to be found in the 'adult' section. One from the medical chapter is repeatable, however. "Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass of Home'." "That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome." "Is it common?" "It's not unusual." Oh well, it made me laugh. Buy this book and you might too.
