Christien Gholson is a writer and poet. 'On the Side of the Crow,' his first published work, is a critically-acclaimed book of poetry. His debut novel A Fish Trapped in the Wind was published by Parthian in 2011. He has also appeared in various magazines, including Alaska Quarterly Review and Hanging Loose. Christien grew up in an American Navy family, moving frequently and attending a new school almost every year. He has lived in Florida, California, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, as well as Italy and Belgium. He has translated the prose poems of Arthur Rimbaud (The Illuminations), and was also the lead singer and songwriter for the band folk-punk Raised by Cats. He's also starred 'as himself' in a Hollywood movie 'The Big One' by director Michael Moore.
