A novelisation of the classic gritty 1970s British drama, 'Gangsters'. John Kline is an ex-SAS officer recently released from prison who finds himself hired by the secretive DI6 organisation to go undercover in the Birmingham underworld. Infiltrating a violent gangster organisation, Kline soon finds himself making some dangerous enemies, with his loyalties trapped.

Philip Martin has been writing professionally for over forty years. Television credits include Z Cars, Doctor Who and Star Cops, but his most famous work is the postmodern series Gangsters. Philip has had productions of his stage plays performed at the National Theatre; the Traverse Theatre; the Liverpool Playhouse; and his local theatre, the Duke's Playhouse, Lancaster. He has also written numerous plays and adaptations for Radios 3 and 4, including Dead Soldiers, voted radio play of the year.
