Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography

Peter Ellis was born in Nairobi Hospital in June 1949 and spent the first two years living in Isiolo on the Northern Frontier District of Kenya, where his father was District Commissioner. Peter and his family moved to Nairobi National Park in 1952 when his father became head warden there. This was their home until 1965. They lived in the Park and very soon started living with unusual animals, some were orphans, some were pets that became too much for others and other were victims of poaching. Some of these characters are in this book. Nowadays, Peter lives in Wadhurst, East Sussex, volunteering with Sussex Wildlife Trust and working in his wife’s haberdashery shop when she needs someone to cover. Peter has two grown children and three grandchildren. The Prince and I is publishing alongside his full memoir, Child of the savannah
