Throughout this vivid collection of poetry and prose and poetic prose there are recollections of her father, who passed away. It is therefore a negotiation with grief, filling the absence with childhood memories, the words keeping close, holding him dear. The words are testament to familial love and the gnaw of absence.

Lottie Williams is the winner of the Nigel Jenkins Literary Award 2023 and a Pushcart Prize Nominee, and has been published in Modron, Nation.Cymru, Firewords and Red Door. She holds a Masters in Creative Writing from Swansea University, and was a member of Literature Wales’s Sgwennu Well programme in which she developed a nature-based writing for wellbeing programme for young people. She has featured on the Seren Esgynnol/Rising Star segment of the Youtube channel Just Another Poet, and has guest spoken at Tiger Bay Poetry, Coracle Europe Festival and Landed Festival. Lottie lives in Carmarthen, West Wales with her partner and four children, and works in a primary school.
