Journalist Elin Morgan has returned to South Wales to bury her father and outrun everything else. In the church yard, names have started to appear, carved into the wall beneath an ancient yew tree. Prophecy or punishment nobody knows, but once your name appears, it isn't death you start fearing. It's all the choices you've avoided until now.

Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography

Natalie Ann Holborow is author of three poetry collections: And Suddenly You Find Yourself (2017), Small (2020) and Little Universe (2024) which was shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year 2025. Her non-fiction book, Wild Running was published by Seren Books in 2025. She is the winner of the 2025 Mslexia Short Story Prize and the 2015 Robin Reeves Prize, and has been shortlisted and commended for several others including the Cursed Murphy Spoken Word Competition, The Rhys Davies Short Story Prize, The Rheidol Fiction Prize and the Bridport Prize.
