Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography

Barney Norris is an award-winning playwright, poet and essayist. His plays are AT FIRST SIGHT (tour and Latitude Festival, 2011; winner of the Drama Association of Wales One Act Play Competition; published by the Drama Association of Wales) and MISSING (Tristan Bates Theatre, 2012). He is currently writing plays for the Bush Theatre, the Southbank Centre and Salisbury Playhouse. He has published poetry in several magazines, including The SHOp, The Frogmore Papers, The Westminster News, Borderlines and The Interpreter’s House; his fiction has been anthologised by WardWood Press in Bedford Square 5, and his essays have been published by A Younger Theatre and Culture Wars. He has work forthcoming on John McGahern (University of Galway Press). He has a BA (Hons) from Keble College, University of Oxford and an MA (Hons) from Royal Holloway, University of London. He works as assistant to Max Stafford-Clark at the touring theatre company Out of Joint, and has previously assisted Peter Gill, David Hare, Thelma Holt and Michael Frayn, and worked and trained at the Bush Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, Oxford Playhouse, Salisbury Playhouse and Yale University Press.
