Carl Rogers has been a keen walker since childhood making his first mountain ascent—Moel Siabod in Snowdonia—at the age of just six. Since then he has walked, scrambled and climbed extensively throughout North Wales, the Scottish Highlands and Cumbria, as well as the Alps and Norway. After training as a graphic designer, he worked in marketing as a designer and photographer. In 2003 he became a self-employed publisher of outdoor material through Mara Books and Northern Eye Books. He is also a member of the Outdoor Writers & Photographers Guild.
