A light and brisk little picture book, with the types of rhyme that invite children to guess the last word, particularly when they end with animal sounds. The tractor breaks his headlight and seeks help from the farm animals, who eventually get him to the garage. In places, the vocabulary is quite developed: 'murk' instead of darkness and 'jalopy' instead of old car. The pictures are brightly coloured and contain little details that are quite fun, like a duck with a snorkel, cows in bonnets and French sheep with berets. I was, however, less keen on the onions around the neck. This is an easy read with pace and rhythm.
