Disgrifiad Cymraeg / Welsh Description

Ym 1953, ymosodwyd ar Lizzie Thomas yn greulon yn ei chartref yn Nhalacharn. Cyhuddwyd George Roberts, a oedd yn Fyddar, yn cyfathrebu trwy ei arwyddion personol ei hun ac nad oedd yn darllen nac yn ysgrifennu, o 'gyffes' honedig. Cafodd ei ryddhau yn ddiweddarach yn yr achos llys.

Disgrifiad Saesneg / English Description

In 1953, Lizzie Thomas was brutally attacked in her home in Laugharne. George Roberts, who was Deaf, communicated through his own personal signs and didn't read or write, was charged on an alleged 'confession'. He was later acquitted at trial. This careful examination of the story highlights how a vulnerable man and woman were wronged by a system which undervalued, misunderstood and failed them.
