Brian retired from the Electricity Supply Industry a number of years ago, after a career as an engineer and manager, working throughout South Wales. Originally from the Eastern Valley of Gwent, he moved to Swansea twenty-eight years ago and now lives in Mumbles. Brian was educated at West Monmouthshire Grammar School in Pontypool and completed his professional qualifications at the University of Wales, Institute of Science and Technology in Cardiff. His interest in local history saw him publish a book about Mumbles and Gower pubs in 2006. Brian has always been a keen walker since his hiking days in the scouts and has ascended most of the main peaks in Wales and completed numerous long-distance trails. His idea of walking from southernmost to the northernmost points in Wales has seen the publication of Wales: A Walk TT, an illustrated historical account of his journey. Brian and his wife Mari have a son and daughter, and four little granddaughters.

Using an historical perspective to enrich the journey, Wales: A Walk Through Time describes a unique walk through a remarkable country. Illustrated with a fascinating collection of old photographs and contemporary images, the route has been specially chosen to explore the beauty and history of Wales. The walk so far had taken us through the proud industrial heritage of South Wales and glorious landscapes of central Wales, but this time, in the third and final part of the series, we have reached North Wales. The journey begins on the North Wales coast, where we stumble upon the world heritage site Conwy Castle, Llandudno and the Ormes. We are then guided to the Llyn coastal path, which trails through an area of outstanding national beauty, the Llŷn Peninsula, with its sandy beaches, towering cliffs and rolling hills. Finally, we will reach the Isle of Anglesey, the last stop on our journey. Crossing over the Menai Strait to Ynys Mon, we will encounter 125 miles of stunning coastline and a paradise of wild flowers and birdlife.
