Mike Church lives in Bridgend and is a performance poet with a teaching and social-work background. He is a regular visitor to schools and has worked in prisons. He is passionately committed to the rights and needs of young people.

A Wee Bit of Trouble is Mike Church’s first volume of poetry for young people. The poet tackles issues that might seem trivial to adults but are important to children and young people. His work looks at aspects of both school and family life and this collection includes a range of subjects including bullying, books and friendship. Whether it’s falling in love in primary school or asking the big questions, Mike Church sees things from a different perspective and farce often rubs shoulders with pathos. The collection also emphasises the importance of performing poems and includes tips from the author who is himself, a performance poet.
