Pembrokeshire has a beautiful, rugged coastline and fine sandy beaches, but there are excellent walks inland, along woodland trails following tumbling streams and through ancient forests. A walk in the woods is a delight for all the senses - the air is fresh and the environment quiet and peaceful.

Pembrokeshire has a rich and fascinating history. Today, it is a green and pleasant rural county but, in the past, it was surprisingly industrial. On the walks you will come across abandoned coal mines and ruined water mills. There are ancient churches, some with stones from the earliest Christian times marked in Ogham script. There are tracks and resting places for pilgrims on their way to St David's cathedral. You will also see the remains of several iron-age forts and a burial chamber older than the pyramids.
